Network marketing scam is a topic that comes up most of the time especially when people search for a legitimate business opportunity. How does one go about avoiding a network marketing scam? Are these easy to detect?  With the right know-how,  I provide you with a simple guideline that anyone can follow that is based on a series of inquisitions pertaining to the MLM review you are conducting on an MLM company or industry.  Here are some questions you need to ask yourself before getting involved:

Does the company provide consumable products that are not only desirable to you, but also provide you with memorable benefits? In other words,  why would you use a product that you are not 100% confident in?  That is exactly what buyer’s remorse is. Do you remember the classic 20/20 episode on a network marketing scam being perpetrated by an MLM company selling water filters? Those distributors were literally spending about over a $1,000 a month on water filters in order to meet their monthly purchase quota for commission qualifications. The end result was a garage full of dust-gathering merchandise that was taking up more space each and every month.

Let’s say you are promoting an anti-aging skin care formula that you are passionate about. Who would be the perfect candidates for your product?  Would you give product samples to an 80 year old man whose skin care regimen (a bar of soap) is the same as the one he uses to wash his hands? This is the wrong target market. By focusing more of your attention on those who desire flawless skin,  you will come out ahead of the competition. It is not to say that there aren’t any “pretty boy” seniors out there like Regis Philbin that you can market your skin care line to.  The market is probably very small and close to the point of extinction.

Does that product encounter any fierce competition at all?  And if so,  how does that product differentiate itself from the crowd of others swarming the competitive market place? In other words, you must identify all the unique advantages that your product features have in comparison with your competition. And you must be able to articulate the disadvantages of your competition’s product in comparison with your product. A complete thorough MLM review is an exercise that you need to complete in order to accomplish this main objective.  Your goal is to position your product as a leader in the industry.

You have a job, and you are getting paid like clock work. You noticed that in order to increase your income aside from getting a raise, is if you work more hours or have a second job. In network marketing, you do not have a boss. You decide your pay increase. Your income potential is unlimited. Even if you stop working, you are still getting paid. Even if you decide to quit working, you are still getting paid. You have more personal development opportunities. You pay less than a $1,000 to get started, no employees to manage or pay.

A couple of major advantages are: you work from home, and you are with your kids or family, and you have total time freedom, meaning you work when you want to. Clients often ask me for entertainment ideas they can incorporate into their event, specifically during the silent auction portion of the evening. They usually want the activity to be tied into the theme of the gala, but they do not want to include an activity which might detract from their primary goal of raising money. They want to know what works well for other groups.

One unique activity I saw at a western-themed fundraising auction was a mechanical bull. The bull ride added a lively ambiance to the night!

The activity had been promoted prior to the auction so guests knew that the bull ride would be available onsite. Even so, guests were wary! Initially, many guests just eyed the bull and watched others give it a shot. When they saw that no one was getting injured, they warmed to the idea and entered the ring to give it a try.

The bull was positioned in the middle of an inflatable ring. The ring resembled an inflatable swimming pool often used by small children. When the guest was thrown off the bull (some guests hit the ground sooner than others), he or she had a “safe” landing on the inflatable plastic.

(To be honest, most guests slid off the bull. I didn’t see anyone “thrown.”)

Because this auction featured a western theme, guests were encouraged to dress the part. Most attendees were wearing jeans or casual pants. A handful of the women were in long skirts. This type of dress code was conducive to the activity of bull-riding. Men favored the activity over women, although I did see at least one woman try her skill.

The fundraiser was held in the school’s gymnasium. The bull was set-up on a center-side, near the bleachers.

Although guests did momentarily stop shopping in the silent auction to watch the riders, the bull wasn’t a noticeable distraction to the silent auction itself. Most people would watch one or two guests ride before drifting back to the silent auction.

During the live auction, we asked guests to sit in the bleachers. The inflated ring was deflated so guests could walk over the collapsed ring and situate themselves on the bleachers.

If you are conducting a cowboy or western-themed event and will be encouraging guests to wear casual clothing, consider talking to an entertainment company about renting a mechanical bull. It was a popular choice with the crowd.

One program, that I became involved with recently, attracted me before I even knew I could make money from promoting it. Success University offers Self-Improvement courses, which is a genre that I have always been interested in. So, making a monthly payment to improve my knowledge and earning power seemed a no brainer to me. The investment seemed small compared to what I could gain, that’s without taking into consideration the money earned through promoting the product to others. Secondly, if you want to make money from your network marketing company with the least possible effort then you must look out for a GREAT compensation plan. significantly reward me for my efforts and subsequently I have lost interest in continuing apace. I would much rather expend the same amount of effort for greater gains.

When perusing the compensation plan ask yourself – Can I start earning with the least amount of effort and more importantly will my income grow exponentially through the time and efforts of both myself and those on my team? You may also want to find out how others are earning by searching the online forums. People love to boast and if the money is being earned then you’ll hear about it.
